During 2006 I was living the life of my dreams – working for a company that I’d always admired, living in an exciting city, earning more money than I knew what to do with but I was miserable. And what’s more, I didn’t know what to do about it.

Visiting Kinsale in Southern Ireland for Easter I found myself booking an Aura-Soma session. Unsure why or indeed what it was I told the therapist that I was in need of energy (something I usually have by the bucket load). Being taken into a small room I was amazed by the display of beautiful and brightly coloured bottles. As Ann Clare McCarthy explained how Aura-Soma came about I couldn’t take my eyes of one bottle in particular. Perhaps unsurprisingly this was bottle 89 – energy rescue which is the ideal "picker upper" to help bring the body, mind and soul together again during states of serious fatigue or dis-connectedness.

As I listened to what seemed to be the most accurate reading / insight into my life, I continued to select and be drawn to certain bottles. The third bottle: representing the present, suggested that everything was aligned for me right now; there was no need to wait. This didn’t make sense at the time as I had at least another two years to work of my contract before I could return home to Scotland. With the fourth and final bottle: the future, indicating that I was part of the New World Order, my friend that I was on holiday with (and was relaxing in our room after her facial) found it exceptionally amusing!! Ann Clare suggested that I arrange a follow up session for four weeks time.

Four weeks later I was in London for a training course, following a holiday in Tuscany. Whilst the week should have been relaxing, I was anything but. Frantic was perhaps the only way to describe my behaviour. And by the time that I arrived in London I had a strong feeling that I was about to die. It seemed inevitable. And I was strangely peaceful with it. During what was termed by the medical profession as a nervous break down / hyper manic episode, I guess that part of me did die that day, but it’s a part that I’ve never really missed. My experience was the most amazing, amusing and enlightening experience of my life. In those hours of madness that followed, I experienced a knowing of everything that ever was and ever would be. And in that instant I knew that I would be stronger than I’d ever been before. It was an overwhelming and humbling experience and clearly very upsetting for my friends and loved ones who witnessed me in this strange ‘heightened’ state.

In the weeks and months that followed I trusted my intuition and chose acupuncture to assist my recovery, rather than conventional medication. And it was Fred who suggested that I may want to consider either cooking, gardening or massage as a way to help ground me. As I’d always enjoyed cooking and gardening, learning Holistic massage was my first steps to becoming a Mind Body Coach.

Four years on and I continue to love and be humbled by the people that I meet and get the opportunity to work with. My passion is to help people to regain balance in their life whether mentally, physically or emotionally. And having been through my own nemesis, I believe that I come from a place of love and understanding.

From my own experience I believe wholeheartedly in the Zen proverb: When the pupil is ready to learn, a teacher will appear. And I’ve been blessed with so many wonderful teachers, many of whom have appeared in my life as clients!

Whilst the New World Order continues to unfold I would like to leave you with something that the Dalai Lama once said: “Remember that not getting what you want is sometimes a wonderful stroke of luck.”

There are times in life when the Universe knows best. While I was in Scotland in March, I heard about an open day at Indigo Silk in Haddington, just outside Edinburgh. I borrowed my mother's car and set off on my holistic day out. However, it soon became apparent that I had no idea how to get there.

Well, I thought I did... which was why I never printed out the directions. And I got very confused and very lost. So much so that I almost gave up ...but something kept me hanging on in there despite my embarrassment at having to phone the venue twice to admit that I still couldn’t find them. Even more embarrassing was that I asked directions in Haddington and it all sounded so easy. In one ear and out the other because another half hour later I found myself back in the town centre and lo and behold when I wound down the window to ask more directions, it was only the same couple that had given me directions earlier! But long story short... I eventually made it!

And what a fabulous venue it was too! Run by Jilly Greig, there was a wonderful variety of therapists and readers to experience, cake stands full of delicious fairy cakes and crystals galore to chose from. While I was waiting my turn for a numerology reading (I’m a 22 by the way!) my attention was drawn to the presence of a lady with piercing blue eyes.

And that was how the Universe brought me and Gail Bryden together. We really didn’t even spend that long chatting, but the connection was instant. Gail’s life coaching skills even homed in on the challenges I was, and still am, facing but in those moments together, everything became manageable again. It really was quite amazing.

Her gift is in seeing the real you and her desire is to help you discover Your True Nature and to fulfil Your True Potential. She has also created her own range of Just Be massage and aromatherapy oils and runs retreats to Bordeaux in France. And we are delighted that Gail is joining our Universal Family!
